In 2013 we engaged the APT Construction Group to undertake renovations to our home. They also did the design.  It was a complex job and took planning and preparation. We were very happy with the job and the after-service. Our expectations were more than exceeded. In particular we were able to maintain occupancy of our home while the work was been undertaken. If we were to design and build another home we would very definitely use their services. In fact we intend to employ their services again for future renovations that we have planned. We have no hesitation is recommending their services to any potential renovator.

Although I have been living overseas, mainly in London, for well over 30 years, I am Australian born and bred and have retained property interests in my home country.

Having inherited a block of land and surplus funds from my late parents, I decided a few years ago to have the property developed.

The first step was to appoint a trustworthy property manager that I could rely upon to recommend a reputable construction company in order to build a house on the vacant property.

Once this had been done, the property manager selected suggested APT Construction to me and, after doing my own research, I decided to accept his recommendation and duly appointed APT Construction to undertake the work.

I can now say I was not disappointed with my decision in that what my property manager stated proved to be true and correct.

Obviously the main difficulty in residing in England and having a building project go ahead on the other side of the world is maintaining good communication, obtaining regular feed backs and above all have confidence in the builder.

This proved to be never an issue as I received constant reports on the progress throughout construction of the house.

These reports consisted of emails, correspondence and photographs at each and every stage of the contract.

Any queries or questions I happened to have were responded to and dealt with promptly and efficiently.

For example, when the house was almost finished, I realised I wanted a material alteration to be carried out. Even though strictly speaking there was no obligation to agree to my request and it would certainly delay the completion of the job, APT Construction in fact agreed to make the late change.

The end result was in my opinion a very fine building which is what I had always wanted.

As proof, the house achieves a higher level of rental income than other properties in the vicinity.

To summarise, the quality of construction and level of service and communication cannot, in my opinion, be faulted.

Finally, I have no hesitation in using the services of APT Construction again should the need arise nor in recommending the company to anyone who would require a reference.

In early 2012, my wife and I bought an old (approx. 35 years) two bedroom, brick veneer house in Altona.

Prior to settlement, we engaged APT Design & Drafting to develop plans for a major upgrade and modernisation of the property. The proposal included the addition of a large family room, conversion of an existing lounge room into a bedroom, complete renovation of both bathrooms, replacement of the kitchen, installation of central heating/cooling, plus other miscellaneous upgrades such polished timber floors throughout all living areas and hallway, front door replacement, etc.

Throughout the design process, we found Angelo and his team very adept at listening to our wishes and translating them into practical designs. We had a desire for feature walls in both the dining area and family room. Angelo was particularly helpful in drafting several detailed ideas for our consideration.

We were also able to inspect a large, modern, new home at near completion in a neighbouring suburb to assure ourselves of the APT organisation capability.

Subsequently, we engaged APT to undertake the building and construction of the project.

Our requirement was for the project to be completed as promptly as reasonably practical as we had sold our previous house. Work started on the renovation (internal demolition, preparation for extension foundation) within days of building permit approval. Progress on the project continued at a steady pace from that point on.

Without exception, we found all of the contractors used on the project by APT (bricklayers, roofer, plumber, electrician, tiler, carpenter) to be of the highest calibre. As a result, the quality of workmanship has resulted in a finished job to our complete satisfaction.

The steady progress on the job and quality of build is also a testament to the APT Construction Manager, Nick, who was in attendance (and often giving a helping hand to the contractors) for most the time that contractors were at work.

We would recommend APT Design, Drafting & Construction be considered for any renovation or new home project. Our experience is that their claim to be quality builders is justified.

We first contacted Angelo 2 years ago to discuss the development potential of an investment property we held in Werribee. It was an irregular corner block in a central location and the APT Design Team delighted us with a design consisting 2 double story 3 bedroom townhouses. We decided to proceed with the designs to planning approval with Wyndham Council and we asked Angelo to also provide a quote for the construction.

Having built 2 houses in the past, we had some insight to the estimation process and decided to proceed with APT for the construction given their competitive quote. Once the contracts were signed, APT managed everything from demolishing the old house, site preparation, construction, landscaping and sub-division process. The actual construction phase of the 2 townhouses from slab to handover took 9 months.

Overall we have been extremely happy with the quality of the construction. The APT team are very professional, approachable, practical, personable and someone you can have a reasonable discussion with. Thank you Angelo & Nick.

I can’t believe how unbelievably easy you and your team made the process.  Coming from Queensland, laws, rules and regulations are all so different so to have you on side to assist and guide me made the process flow so smoothly and allowed me to deliver my project on time which from my company’s perspective was the most important aspect.

From liaising with our other contractors and council on behalf to either get things moving or ensure things were tracking as they should, it was all just seamless.

I would like to take this opportunity to write a testimonial/reference for APT Construction Group Proprietary Limited who I engaged to undertake renovations of my home.

APT was recommended to me and was very highly spoken of in their professionalism, quality, advice and expertise.  Also, they are a one stop shop from the very start of conception to providing drafting, plans, guidance right through from start to the finalisation of the construction.

I have never undertaken a renovation of a house of this scale and during the entire process I was treated with the utmost respect, and kept well informed at all times during the entire project which was on a massive scale.  The entire house internally was gutted and our plans put into action in creating a renovated home.

Nothing was too much trouble in explaining in detail what could be expected. Any variations for whatever reason or for any problems I was contacted immediately and was discussed thoroughly, giving me all the options of how best to implement taking into consideration the costs.  Any questions or queries I had they were only too willing to listen, providing expert advice and guidance.

I really looked forward to our onsite meetings once a week with Nick who took me through explaining where we were at.  Watching my house come back together with the expertise, guidance I received was above and beyond what I expected, which is what I was told when referred to APT and they certainly lived up to the recommendation, if not more.

Their respect for the building regulations, local laws, and occupational health and safety was well demonstrated and enforced at all times.  This is of peace of mind for me as the owner of the property I certainly would not have to deal with any issues arising as such I didn’t.

The Kitchen was quite adventurous as we decided that the bench tops and cupboards would be made from recycled wood.  This was achieved with the help of Nick and Angelo who went beyond what was required and dealt with the service provider who undertook the work, again this was really appreciated but also made my dream kitchen come to fruition.  Now completed, it is even better than we imagined, it is magnificent.  Also, feedback from the service provider who made and installed the bench tops and cupboards made from recycled wood regarding the cutting, assembly and installation of carcass was so precise and accurate.

Friends and family who saw the before and the completed renovations have commented that it is tasteful and very welcoming.

APT took into consideration my taste, what I wanted to achieve and provided advice as to how to achieve it.  They also provided information as to what should be done now and what could be done later but also ensured that I kept costs in mind.  This is a big factor especially with an older house where variations or the unexpected needs to be taken into account.

I was working fulltime, had another house on the market for sale and undertook this project all at once.  With the engagement of APT I had confidence in the management of this renovation that I could work fulltime; manage another house for sale with full confidence.

With regards to payments when they are due, providing invoices plenty of notice and so efficient in providing receipts.  Their office management is well organised, also whenever I telephoned they were willing to assist with any query regardless of how small or big.

We are about to embark on our next project with APT in demolishing a reconstruction of a new garage which we are so looking forward to as the expertise, professionalism and guidance once again I look forward to.
